Your Questions, Answered
General Questions
-
Mythic Wick is a small-batch candle and home fragrance studio inspired by fiction, folklore, and cozy nights in, hand-poured in Washington State.
-
I currently offer 3oz, 6oz, 10oz, and 11oz candles, roll-on fragrance oils, wax melts, and hand-dipped incense.
-
Every candle, incense stick, wax melt, reed diffuser, and roll-on fragrance oil is made, labeled, and packed by hand in my Washington studio.
Ingredients & Materials
-
My candles are made with a natural coconut–soy wax blend with a small amount of sunflower or palm wax, and the wax is always paraffin free.
-
Most candles feature crackling wooden wicks for an extra bit of cozy ambiance, while my 3oz candles use lead-free cotton wicks.
-
Yes. All Mythic Wick fragrances are phthalate-free and free of any ingredients on the California Prop 65 list of cancer-causing chemicals.
-
Most of my products are vegan-friendly and I use materials that are not tested on animals. I never test final products on animals. The fragrance oils and wax used are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. The cotton wicks of my 3oz candles and tea light candles are primed with a blend of natural waxes that includes beeswax, so they are not considered vegan-friendly.
Safety
-
Always keep candles, incense, and fragrance oils out of reach of pets and children, never leave a burning candle or incense unattended, and burn in a well-ventilated area on a stable, heat-safe surface.
-
Natural wax blends can sometimes show small imperfections, bubbles, or frosting on the surface, which are cosmetic only and do not affect how your candle burns or smells.
Candle & Fragrance Use
-
For the first burn, let the melt pool reach the edges of the container to help prevent tunneling; keep the wick trimmed to about ¼ inch and burn for no more than 3–4 hours at a time.
-
Approximate burn times are: 11oz candles about 50 hours, 6oz candles about 25 hours, and 3oz candles about 15-20 hours, depending on your environment and whether you use proper candle care (burning no more than 4 hours at a time, trimming the wick before burning, allowing a full melt pool).
-
Make sure the wax has cooled, gently trim or pinch off any charred bits of wick, and relight; wooden wicks are made from natural wood and sometimes need a little extra tending. You may need to trim shorter than you expect, so that the fragrance oil can wick up properly to maintain a nice steady flame.
-
Apply the roll-on fragrance to pulse points like wrists, inner elbows, and behind the ears, allow it to sink into the skin, and reapply as needed throughout your adventure.
-
Each pack includes 20 hand-dipped incense sticks; place a stick in a heatproof holder, light the tip, blow out the flame to let it smolder, and enjoy 45–60 minutes of scent.
-
My incense is made from a charcoal incense base that burns cleaner, produces less smoke than wooden incense, and gives a truer rendition of each fragrance blend.
-
Yes. Once a candle is finished, you can gently warm and remove any remaining wax, wash the jar with warm soapy water, and reuse it for small treasures, tea lights, or desk odds and ends.
-
I am not accepting returns of empty jars at this time.
Orders & Shipping
-
At this time, I ship within the United States only.
-
Shipping is free on orders over 85 USD, and orders under that amount ship for a flat rate of 9 USD.

Typical processing time is 3–5 business days before your order ships; if I am traveling or it’s a busy holiday season, a longer processing time will be posted in the information bar at the top of the website.

Sometimes, carriers mark packages “delivered” early. First, wait 2-3 days, then check with household members, neighbors, and around doors or mailrooms; if it still hasn’t appeared after a couple of days, reach out with your order number and I’ll see what I can do to help.

-
Unused items may be returned within 30 days of your order date; the customer is responsible for return shipping costs, and items must arrive in their original, unused condition.
